The wrong type of economic snow..

Just saw George Osborne on TV tryng to explain away the 0.5% shrinkage in the economy over the last quarter. If he had mentioned the weather one more time you would begin to believe he was Thomas Shafernacker.....

A few years ago the management of Railtrack had much derision heaped on it when it tried to explain away train delays by claiming that "the wrong type of snow" had fallen...

It's a ridiculous excuse for a rail company, but for the Chancellor to claim the economy shrank because of "the wrong type of snow.."

The mind boggles...

  1. I know, this Tory-led government will do anything to excuse themselves. The weather is such an unquantifiable excuse also!

Is George Osborne paying his taxes yet or is he still dodging them? Perhaps if that money was released into the economy it might help counteract this shrinkage, if only by a small amount!

  2. Leyton, not sure about George Osborne's personal tax position, but I know that his family's wealth is protected by a trust fund, to minimise tax paid.

A nice position for a finance minister: sends a great message...
